With our wealth of expertise and hands-on experience, we offer an array of services tailored to the needs of the OLE sector.
Our OLE design team specialises in all elements of overhead line equipment design to support our clients’ requirements from initial feasibility through to option development, single option selection, outline design, detailed design, construction support, as built and hand back to support the Network Rial PACE Engineering Stages ES2 to ES8.
PBH Rail have a full capability to plan and execute a range of surveying and inspection services for Electrification contact system infrastructure. Ranging from condition dilapidation surveys to geometry data gathering, Height and Stagger measurement, Electrical clearances to full route infrastructure data gathering.
Our OLE team has significant experience in being the lead designer for new electrification schemes having designed the new electrification for the route between Stirling, Dunblane and Alloa for Network Rail Scotland
With our surveying expertise, PBH rail has a wealth of technical expertise in managing large data on infrastructure projects, PBH are able to tailor our technical deliverables to suit the clients requirements. Whether as 2D plan and cross sections, 3D models or full data rich deliverables we endeavour to provide integrated solutions within a common data environment.
PBH Rail has a broad set of skills and experience of facilities infrastructure to provide safe and value engineered solutions. We can develop new or revised electrification configurations on any Depot infrastructure project t include for removal, site clearance, re-modelling, new OLE infrastructure, electrical sectioning, Depot Isolation procedures, OLE disconnector interlocking.
Advice on structure clearance requirements, design for modification of OLE infrastructure, electrical clearance assessments and solutions to assist with the demolition and/or reconstruction of bridges on the network.
We can provide traction bonding solutions for permanent or temporary works in accordance with standards to include main line and lineside bonding of conductive items, assessment of the OCLZ and CCZ, temporary works bonding for construction sites including items such as access scaffolds, temporary passenger or service bridges, fences, hoardings etc.
With a wealth of experience in supporting track renewal, replacement, and High Output Ballast cleaning programmes PBH Rail have developed a comprehensive set of skills and tools to undertake OLE Geometry analysis.
Our fast, efficient, and accurate processes enable reactive solutions and rapid turnaround of data to provide assurance and technical guidance to ensure tracks schemes outputs are interfaced with its associated OLE and compliant. Our deliverables are designed to enable project delivery teams with track hand back and minimise OLE works through pragmatic designs and pre-emptive solutions.

Whether in S&C renewals, Junction upgrades or Remodelling projects our knowledge and understanding of the Overhead Catenary system enables us to develop robust and value engineered solutions to minimize physical works, support the clients installation staging methodology and provide compliant, safe and maintainable configurations.
Design and innovation are at the heart of our organisation and we have experience of developing bespoke OLE basic design for specialist applications. Whether it be bespoke foundations for a specific ground condition or installation methodology, small part steelwork or specific structural solutions, PBH can develop the design and support acceptance for specialist application in OLE projects.

Interrogating, analysing and identifying hazards at critical public areas on the railway infrastructure, particularly at station platforms and level crossings, is key to providing compliant, safe Railway infrastructure solutions. PBH Rail has explicit knowledge of the key hazards and influencing factors that require consideration and experience of the mitigations and control measures necessary to develop value engineered and safe solutions. PBH can support with station re-development to include new bridges, AFA schemes, OLE conductor modification and clearance assessments including public standing surface electrical clearance assessment clearance.
