1. COMMITMENT TO ACHIEVING NET ZERO
PBH Rail Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, in line with UK Government targets and the requirements of Procurement Policy Note (PPN) 06/21.
This commitment applies to Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant Scope 3 emissions as defined by the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. PBH Rail recognises the importance of decarbonisation within the rail and infrastructure sector and is committed to reducing the environmental impact of its operations through measured, transparent and continual improvement.
2. ORGANISATIONAL BOUNDARY
This Carbon Reduction Plan relates to the UK operations of PBH Rail Ltd, comprising:
• Two UK office locations (York – owned; Peterborough – leased)
• Approximately 100 employees
• Approximately 20 diesel vans and 1 electric vehicle
• Rail engineering, design and survey operations across the UK
Emissions have been calculated in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Standard and UK Government GHG Conversion Factors (2023). Where primary data was unavailable, conservative and transparent assumptions have been applied.

4. EMISSIONS REDUCTION TARGETS
PBH Rail Ltd is committed to reducing operational greenhouse gas emissions by at least 40% by 2035 against the 2024 baseline and achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.
5. CARBON REDUCTION MEASURES
• Phased transition of diesel vans to electric alternatives.
• Monitoring and optimisation of fleet mileage and fuel efficiency.
• Review of renewable electricity tariffs.
• LED lighting and smart heating controls.
• Hybrid working and reduced business travel where feasible.
• Improved carbon data capture and annual reporting updates.
6. GOVERNANCE AND APPROVAL
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and approved at Director level.
